Policies & FAQs

Deposit Information

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be applied toward your final balance and covers any pre-shoot expenses and preparation.

Signiture Portrait Session: $75 deposit
(Due 48hrs prior to booking)
The Editorial Experience: $150 deposit
(Due 5 days prior to booking)
Event Coverage: 30% of total fee upfront
Headshot Services: 30% of total fee upfront

~Example:
Deposit for a 4 hour event coverage
$100 x 4hr = $400 total
$400 x 30% = $120 deposit

Late Policy + Fees

You are allowed a 10-minute grace period. After this, a $30 late fee will be added to your final invoice—no exceptions.

If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, your session will be canceled and your deposit will be forfeited.

For Event Coverage Bookings Only: A late start time does not extend your booked coverage. Any approved additional time will be billed at $75/hour and added to your final invoice.

Additional fees will not be waived under any circumstances. Repeated failure to complt with this policy may result in a permanent ban on future bookings.

To reschedule, you must select a new date and submit a new deposit, as the original deposit is non-transferable.

How can I add add-ons?

You can add add-ons to your session by contacting Coloredbyanu directly.

During your pre-photoshoot consultation, we’ll discuss your session details, including any additional add-ons you’d like to include.

*Please keep in mind that Additional Hours for Studio bookings, must be asked and confirmed during your pre-photoshoot meeting.*

Last minute requests to extend your photoshoot, due to lost time or lateness, will be denied.

Cancelation & Rescheduling policy

If you need to cancel your session, your deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will also require payment of 50% of the remaining balance.

Rescheduling:
You may reschedule your session once without penalty if notice is given at least 72 hours in advance. Any changes after 72 hours will require a new deposit for additional reschedules.

No-Shows:
Failure to arrive for your session without prior notice will result in the forfeiture of your deposit and the full session fee being due. If not paid, it will result in legal action.

Photographer Cancellations:
In the rare event I must cancel due to an emergency, your deposit will be fully refunded, or you may apply it to a rescheduled date.

By booking, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation & rescheduling policy.

Travel info & Fees

I am based in the New York area and primarily serve locations including the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Westchester County.

For locations outside NYC, including New Jersey, Connecticut, an Pennsylvania, a travel fee may apply.

Travel Fee: Starting at +$45 and increasing depending on exact location

Refund Policy

All payments are final. Refunds are not available for any reason.

Your deposit and payments help cover the costs of running my photography business, including preparation, equipment, and studio rentals.

Please be sure to carefully consider your booking before purchase.

Photo Sharing + Social Media Policy

Client Content Sharing:
~ Clients are welcome to record videos and share photos from their sessions freely on social media and personal platforms. When posting photos from your session, tagging @Coloredbyanu is appreciated but not mandatory. This helps support my small business and grow our creative community.

Photographer’s Content Use:
~ I reserve the right to photograph and record content during all sessions for promotional purposes. This includes sharing images and videos on my website, social media, Etsy shop, marketing materials, etc. Your consent to this use is part of our agreement when booking.

Handling Feedback & Complaints:
~ If you have any concerns or issues with your session or images, please contact me directly so I can address and resolve them promptly. Open communication helps me provide the best experience possible.

Public complaints or negative reviews shared on social media before giving me a chance to resolve the matter may be considered a breach of our agreement. While I respect freedom of expression, I ask that you give me the opportunity to make things right before posting negative content publicly.

Weather & Emergency Policy

Weather:
~ For outdoor sessions, if severe weather (heavy rain, storms, or unsafe conditions) occurs, we will reschedule your session at no additional cost. Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss rescheduling options.

Personal Emergencies:
~ If you experience a personal emergency that requires rescheduling, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance when possible. Rescheduling is subject to my availability and may require a new deposit if within 72 hours of the session.

Last-Minute Cancellations/ Emergencies
~ If you need to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your session due to an emergency, please notify me immediately. While I understand emergencies happen, deposits and fees may still apply based on timing.

~ If requesting for a cancelation fee waiver, proof of documentation verifying the emergency (such as a doctor’s note or official notice) is needed to confirm a justified cancelation. This is standard practice to ensure fairness for all clients as I do not waive any fees.

Photographer Emergencies:
~ In the unlikely event I must cancel due to illness or emergency, your deposit will be fully refunded or applied to a new date, whichever you prefer.

Do you own a Studio?

I do not currently own a studio; however, I partner with professional studio spaces that I rent for all Studio Sessions.
The studio rental cost is included in your booking fee and secured through a non-refundable deposit.

When should I expect my photos?

Final images are delivered within 1 week of your photoshoot. During this time, you will receive your color-edited gallery to review and select images for professional skin retouching.

If additional photos are purchased, the delivery time may be extended accordingly.

Need your photos sooner?
Expedited delivery is available for an additional fee:
• 48-hour delivery: +$100
• 72-hour delivery: +$75
Expedited requests must be made at the time of booking and are subject to availability.

How do I receive my Photos?

After your session, you will receive a link to your private gallery hosted on my Pixieset website. Through this link, you can:
~ Browse the entire photo gallery
~ Favorite your selections for retouching
~ Download images directly (once final payment is complete)
~ Share the gallery link with friends and family for digital downloads

Please note: The Pixieset gallery will be available for 1 month due to limited hosting space.

Once your selected images have been professionally retouched, you will receive a permanent Adobe Creative Cloud link. This link will remain active for 1 year and can be accessed and shared freely.

Please be sure to download all your favorite images within that time, as the link will expire after 12 months.

What are your Payment Options?

Coloredbyanu provides detailed, professional invoices through my website, making payment easy and secure. You can pay using:
• PayPal
• Apple Pay
• Direct bank transfer

If you prefer to use another payment method, such as Cash App, please let me know during our pre-production consultation.

Do you provide Wheelchair/Disability Accommodation?

If you need any assistance, please reach out to Coloredbyanu with details regarding your needs and I will try to accommodate you!

Could I remove the Watermarks on my own?

No client is able to download or use any photos until final payment has been fulfilled. Any usage of photos or the attempt to remove the watermark without paying the remaining fee(s) will result in Legal action.

This policy is automatically applied to all photoshoots.
